INTERVIEW WITH STEFANO CALANNA, PALMERI PNEUMATICI CATANIA

For the column “interview with “Sos Tyres International dealers” this time we are excited to tell you the story of one of our most precious dealers: Stefano Calanna, of Palmeri Pneumatici. Born and raised in Catania, the protagonist of this month has been in the tyre sector for 27 years and has dedicated his entire career to ensuring maximum support to all his customers.

Stefano had a different journey from the rest: immediately after his diploma in accounting he started working in commercial administration at Palmeri Pneumatici; the company, founded by the “Cavaliere” Giovanni Palmeri in 1962 was already synonymous with efficiency and quality at the time. Over time the company has continued to grow, thanks also to his children, who have expanded and developed the founder’s idea.

In 2018 the team founded Fleet Assistance – Assistenza Diversa. In the beginning, the service was on call and aimed at solving sudden problems on customers’ vehicles. Today, however, each customer has a dedicated operator who takes care of daily inspections and, if necessary, the resolution of vehicle breakdowns.

In addition, the company sends an annual report to the customer that includes detailed information on the operations performed, the tires repaired and the problems avoided, thus giving the customer full control over fleet management.

In a constantly evolving sector, training is essential, especially for the external assistance service. The service truck operators (OCS – Service Truck Operators) regularly participate in meetings with the sales team of the various sales outlets, with the aim of always providing a safe, effective service and discussing the results and new challenges to be faced.

Calanna has directly experienced and actively contributed to the growth of Palmeri Pneumatici, which today counts three sales outlets and seventy employees. The team’s motto is “Never say NO to the customer”. Every difficulty becomes an opportunity to demonstrate the value of the service offered. The relationship of trust with the customer is a value built over time with commitment and professionalism, its results today are indisputable. In the personal and working reality of Stefano Calanna, dedication, passion and competence coexist, with a propensity for social commitment and solidarity and an immense love for his city.
